[National Bureau of Statistics: Consumer prices have increased steadily year-on-year, and the decline in industrial producer prices has narrowed year-on-year] Securities Times News, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in April, the national consumer price (CPI) rose by 0.3% year-on-year, a year-on-year increase compared with the previous month. The increase was 0.2 percentage points; the month-on-month increase was 0.1%, and the previous month fell by 1.0%. In terms of categories, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol fell by 1.4% year-on-year, the prices of clothing increased by 1.6%, the prices of housing increased by 0.2%, the prices of daily necessities and services increased by 1.4%, the prices of transportation and communications increased by 0.1%, and the prices of education, culture and entertainment increased by 1.8%. Health care prices rose by 1.6%, and other supplies and services rose by 3.8%. Among the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol, the price of fresh fruits fell by 9.7%, the price of grain increased by 0.5%, the price of fresh vegetables increased by 1.3%, and the price of pork increased by 1.4%. The core CPI, excluding food and energy prices, rose 0.7% year-on-year, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.
